Meet the artist: Katherine Moes
This winter we're excited to adorn our shops and home kitchens with this beautiful, limited edition print by Seattle artist Katherine Moes. Katherine's illustration displays the origins of some of our favorite winter flavors: clementine sorbet, Meyer lemon ice cream, brûléed grapefruit sorbet and Rachel’s Ginger Beer blood orange sorbet. Using gouache paint and brush, Katherine is both meticulous and playful as she breathes the life of these raw ingredients onto paper.
About the artist:
Katherine’s love of science inspired her to get a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. After college she tried her hand at zoo keeping, animal conservation, birding and vet assisting, before entering into full-time motherhood with her two children (all while painting animals in her spare time). This past year Katherine completed the Natural Science Illustration certificate program at the University of Washington. The marriage of her science education and artistic leanings found a path to further explore and grow. She loves being a creative participant within this illustration tradition.
Prints are available in shops and online.

Peeps, great concept! A great winter flavor for Nov.-January is pomegranate! It's a relatively short season in the grocery stores, but it's WORTH IT! And may I suggest, as a variation on one of your standards, walnut without the maple? Just pure, creamy walnut--sometimes simplicity is good, too.
Keep up the good work!
