breakfast at molly moon's

this morning we did a little test run of breakfast at molly moon's and it was SO fun!

from 9 to noon we served up steaming bowls of locally grown oats, each with a scoop or two of ice cream on top and a really lovely bar of organic and local toppings. we had dried sour cherries, lots of fresh berries, candied ginger, chopped hazelnuts & walnuts, chocolate bits, and then spices: cinnamon, clove, cardamom & nutmeg. paired with vivace coffee with cream and sugar it was a perfect fall sunday morning meal!

i had maple walnut on my oatmeal with a little cinnamon and some berries. i heard people really liking cardamom with vanilla, and a lot of the kids w
ent for strawberry ice cream with berries & chocolate.

the vibe of the morning was really nice -- relaxed, good music, and room for everyone to sit & enjoy. lots of friends & nieghbors.

so the test-run was a total success,
and i really like the addition to our molly moon's community, so we'll be doing breakfast every sunday from now on. we'll keep the oatmeal hot and the toppings out until around 2 and start things up at 9 am.

i can't wait to see more of you on sunday mornings!

OH MY GOODNESS. This is the best idea. You have made me miss the shop even more. I cannot wait to come back and experience this!

This, probably, being one of the best new experiences of my life. You guys are crazy, but in the best way possible. I appreciate you supporting my addiction to ice cream and giving me a reason to enjoy it in the a.m.

I LOVED the ice cream over oatmeal breakfast that I had to post about it on my blog:
